Inspired by the early years of the XX century. Women experienced a lot of changes in fashion during this period of time. When World War I began and men had to leave to fight for their country,

women had to take on jobs formerly filled by men. Women and girls who previously worked as domestic servants took jobs in

factories, performed administrative work, worked as drivers, nurses and on farms.

A New Image of Freedom and self respect led women away from traditional gender roles. Most of the occupations demanded wearing uniforms, including trousers. Wearing long skirts and crinolline they had little to no movement, not to mention discomfort. It was the first time in fashion where women wore trousers, although it wasn’t socially acceptable yet. A couple of years later women also experienced the freedom of the corset thanks to Paul Poiret.
